Dr. John Cromie – CEO

Dr. Cromie has over 30 years experience in information and communication technology and innovation, spanning major transnationals, Australian export-oriented technology companies, specialist consulting firms and SMEs. John has over 35 years experience as a CEO and more than 20 years as a company director.

 

John was the foundation President of the industry association SMBiT Professionals in Victoria, and a foundation Director of SMBiT Professionals Limited (Australia and NZ).

 

A strong combination of commercial experience, public innovation policy and practice, and academic education and research enables John to bring a high quality of analytical thought and practical experience to clients’ business strategies, policies and operations, especially in relation to information and communications technology.

Liam Furlong – Operations Manager

 

Liam has an interest in all things technical. Following his secondary education, Liam obtained qualifications in a wide range of areas, most relevantly in Microsoft’s technology specialist certifications for desktops, Active Directory and Network Infrastructure.

 

Liam joined The IT Department in its earliest days, as the second employee, and has experience in every aspect of the business. However, he has distinguished himself in technical and management capabilities, and quickly rose to the position of Operations Manager, responsible for all client service delivery.

Daniel Lazar – Finance and
Admin Manager

 

Dan joined the IT Department near the inception of the business. His ability to combine technical skills and business administration is a key to the success of our business.

 

Dan enjoys the diversity of being the manager of finance and administration, an account manager and, at times, covers remote support. As well as his passion for management, in his leisure time Dan enjoys physical activity.

Janet Coghill – Marketing, HR and
Facilities Manager

B Agr.Sci (Hons), Grad.Dip.Appl.Sci (Hort)

 

Janet has had a long and varied career. A product of Broken Hill, Janet was educated in Adelaide and Melbourne, and completed a Bachelor of Agricultural Science at the University of Melbourne. She went on to start and run a number of successful businesses ranging from garden design and horticultural consultation services to home maintenance products, and has also enjoyed successful stints in government, medical and private business organizations and in Christian missionary organisations.

 

Janet brings this rich background to her role at The IT Department, where she manages Marketing, HR and Facilities.
